Who is Stacey Seaside?
To the world she is
Stacey Harris Papaioannou
Stacey has been a resident of Greece for almost 4 decades. Based in Mykonos, thanks to parents whose ancestral roots are from the resort island, she was raised in suburban Chicago. Joliet to be exact in 1960.
Stacey has written and published articles since she was 14. She translates Greek to English texts. She creates content for websites.
Now retired from her “day jobs,” she has taught English, Speech and Journalism in junior colleges and high schools in Illinois, owned and managed a bookstore and a minimarket in Mykonos.
She volunteers her time for women’s organizations and politics. Currently she serves as co-chair of the Youth Committee and Cultural Volunteers for FAWCO (the Federation of American Women’s Associations). She has served in several leadership roles with Democrats Abroad Greece (DAGR) including Country Chair, the American Women’s Organization of Greece (AWOG) including President and the Volunteers Association of Mykonos (VAM), also as a president. For 2 years she lived full time in Athens. This offered the opportunity to become more deeply involved with AWOG and DAGR.
She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
She is an avid swimmer, winter or summer, and is the proud mother of 2 adult sons, 31 and 26 years of age.
